Ms. Simmons has competed in various oratorical competitions in Georgia and Washington, DC. Esther received several educational awards, trophies and certificates competing in and winning many in Toastmaster's International from 2007-2013. In college, she was a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Forensics Society.

In 1980 she was invited by Major Shackelford, Jr. to perform the famous "I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH" by Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. at Watha T. Daniel library in Washington, DC.
Esther mentioned in the introduction before reading the speech that Dr. King believed all men should be treated equal and given the same opportunities.
In 1990, Esther was invited to be the Guest Speak at the Senior Citizens' event at Capitol View on South Capitol in Washington, DC. She awed the elderly with her inspirational and spiritual words of encouragement for twenty minutes, then it was time for Q&A with the audience.
In 2006, Esther appeared as a Guest Speaker at Robert Gadsden School on May Street in Savannah to explain to the students in Mrs. S. Williams class the importance of "Good Citizenship." Afterwards the students asked questions about good character.
In 2020, March 14th, her mother's birthday, Esther had the privilege of being Guest Presenter at the Beach Institute to speak about the topic "Siblings" in the Genealogical Research Center. There were other participants as well. She discussed along with an easel of her ancestors, the Goshea Siblings life during the Civil Rights Movement in Savannah.

Esther Grace Simmons sang at the Apollo Theater in New York after winning 2nd Place in a Kemet Productions Talent (Produced by Eric) show held at Howard University in Washington, DC.
Esther wrote a song entitled, "Teens Trying to Prevent Crime In America," published on Hilltop Records, Hollywood, California. The song is number 6 on the America CD. (Copyright (c) 2014.
